Take Flight Summer Butterfly Pin and Card by Linda Strawn

This is a great project to use the little piece of printed paper you have collected.

Pick out about a dozen or so scrap pieces of paper and stamp in black #1549-I Barbara’s Butterfly on each one.
See Picture 1
  set aside.

Ink up butterfly stamp with black StazOn or a transparency ink and stamp this onto a piece of cold laminate.
See Picture 2
Let dry or heat lightly to dry.

Going back to the scrap pieces of paper you stamped in step 2, pick out what colors you wish to add to your butterfly and using a sharp scissors cut out the pieces.  Make sure you cut a little outside the stamping lines.  When cut, place the pieces on the cold laminate butterfly.  When all the pieces are placed where you want them use your bone folder to burnish the paper so good contact is made.   I make each side a duplicate of the other.  Be sure and place the pieces printed side down against the adhesive on the cold laminate.
See Picture 3
  and   See Picture 4

When all the pieces are placed cut out your butterfly.

Drop the butterfly into a bowl of warm water, wait a few minutes and set out onto a towel and start to rub off the paper from the back.  If paper becomes hard to remove soak a bit longer.  You should be able to just roll the paper off.  This will leave you with a pattern that has transferred to the cold laminate.
See Picture 5
 , See Picture 6
 and See Picture 7

Let butterfly dry, when dry, working on the front; outline all the black areas of stamping with dries white glue from art institute and cover with black glitter.  Tap off excess and allow to dry. See Picture 8

To make beaded body, use black wire fold in half and tread a small bead to the center and twist lightly.  Going thru both wires add a small gold bead, a med rainbow bead, 2 rainbow teardrop beads small ends together, and a large pink faceted bead.  Separate wires and on each add a small gold bead for eyes.  Twist wires together to make beads sit on head of body.  Separate wires again go up about 2-1/2” on each end and twist on a gold metallic bead.  Form ends into a curve for antenna on your butterfly. Add jewels to the front of butterfly if desired. See finished picture. Add a small pin back to butterfly if desired.

Cut a piece of pink Bazzil paper 10 x 5-1/2” and fold into a card with the fold at top Mat card with a printed butterfly paper from Bo-Bunny Press called butterfly wishes.  Before you tack down matt add a piece of ribbon along bottom edge and secure on backside.  Adhere to card.  Form a bow from same ribbon and add to the right side.  See finished picture.

Ink summer stamp (Hero Arts) with cyan Versacolor ink and stamp onto a white piece of cardstock and trim image.  Matt onto pink Bazzil cardstock.  Add a clipola and clip to card at top.    See finished picture (at top.)

Use a glue dot and add butterfly to top of card.

Note:  You can also add a bit of poster goop to back of butterfly and make a window or mirror decoration.
