Dragonfly
Pond by Bernardine Farmer
On light blue cardstock stamp Water Lily and Dragonfly Pond (Art
Neko) with a VersaMark inkpad and emboss with gold embossing powder.
Add blue chalk to sky areas and use watercolor pencils on the
dragonflies and lily pond - a lime green and dark green for the
leaves, yellow for the flowers, and navy blue for the dragonflies.
Cut out all four sections. On back of second section add pop dots or
fun foam to raise it up. Adhere all to navy blue cardstock 3-5/8” x
5-1/8”, leaving a 1/16” gap between each section. Mount this onto
olive green cardstock 5-1/2” x 3-3/4”. Mount this at an angle on
navy blue cardstock folded to 4-3/4” x 6-1/2”.
Re-stamp and emboss the second section of the lily pond two more
times and color the same as before. Cut out two flowers and one
leaf. With pop dots fan both flowers and add them to the
second section. With another pop dot, add the leaf slightly above
where the original leaf is to add depth.
Stamp Just for Fun Dragonfly on vellum with VersaMark and emboss
with gold embossing powder. On backside of dragonfly, color with
purple and turquoise markers and trim. With a small pot dot under
the head and double pop dots on the bottom wing, adhere dragonfly to
top of card. |

Birthday
Bouquet by Becky Chabot
1. Stamp the butterfly image (TAC) with VersaMark ink onto black
cardstock and emboss with gold powder and cut out.
2. Brush the wings with Pearl Ex Pigment Powder - teal to the
outside edges then fill in with purple. Spray with a sealant.
3. Coil thin wire into a tight spiral and glue to the center as the
body. Embellish the body and tips of wings with teal and dark blue
Stickles. Let dry.
4. Use a spray adhesive to glue two pieces of Ivy patterned
cardstock (Keepsake Designs) back to back. Cut a 10-inch circle of
the double Ivy cardstock.
5. Glue a 10-inch paper lace doily to the center of the circle of
cardstock. Place the project doily side down.
6. Score the circle to fold easier. Fold the bottom of the circle up
about one inch, and then fold the sides in at an angle, overlapping
slightly. Use a scoring mat with a measuring grid to help keep the
angles balanced and straight.
7. Affix random fabric flowers to the top of the card with large
brads and snaps. Add dots of brown and yellow permanent marker to
the brads as desired.
8. Affix the butterfly to the center of a flower using dimensional
tape in the center only, fold the wings up..
9. Place an eyelet on the left and right flap about one inch from
the edge and tie a bow with blue ribbon.
10. Tie a round metal-rimmed tag to the bow and add a sentiment
(Magic Scraps Birthday Flair Button).
11. Include a sentiment or note inside the card. |

Butterfly
Postale by Karen Bourke
In the center
of a non-stick craft sheet squeeze small amounts of alcohol inks,
metallic mixative and blending solution. Take a piece of glossy
cardstock and place it face down onto the inks. Turn the cardstock
around and lift off. You should have a nicely coloured background
for your work. With the remaining ink left on the craft sheet take
another piece of glossy cardstock and repeat the action. This piece
will have lighter colours and should be used for this project.
Ink up your stamp (www.themoonroseartstamps.com)
with black StazOn and stamp onto your glossy cardstock. Trim excess
card from edges. Mount onto black
pearlized
card and then onto an A6 card.
Ink only the butterfly portion of the stamp with black StazOn. Cut
four pieces of fantasy film to size and place over the butterfly;
cover this with a piece of parchment paper and, using a craft iron,
iron over the parchment paper (medium to high setting). The heat
will fuse the film together. Cut around the butterfly; gently bend
the wings upwards on each side of the body and use silicone adhesive
to place it over the same image on your card. Next stamp the
butterfly twice on a single layer of fantasy film, cut out the wings
and main body, bend the wings and using blobs of silicone place them
over the main butterfly. You will now have a dimensional butterfly
on your card which will change colour depending upon the light and
the colour of your background cardstock.
See picture for close up view of butterfly.

Fly by Heather Taylor
Fold a piece of copy paper
in half and draw one half of a butterfly on it. Cut it out and
unfold the butterfly. Use this butterfly as a template and cut
out six of them.
This butterfly uses various technique backgrounds: |

http://www.orientalstampart.com/techniquedetails.html#marvy
Stamp butterfly (About Art Accents) with a VersaMark inkpad

Stamp (About Art Accents.) with Versacraft Black then embossed
with emboss with Moonglow Willow Gold.
5) Use credit card technique. Stamp with StazOn Black (stamp
by About Art Accents.)
6) Use Alcohol inks background technique. Stamped with
VersaMark inkpad and embossed with Ranger Pearl Blue (stamp by
Art Neko). |
Create 6 feelers by snipping 6 small bits of black wire and
twirling one end of each.
Lay one butterfly down, white side up, and cover the middle with
double-stick tape. Attach the feelers and then lay gold ribbon
across the middle, leaving enough for one tying end. Use more
double-stick tape to cover the wings and then lay the facing
butterfly on top. Trim edges if necessary. Repeat for the other 4
butterflies, making sure to leave another long end for tying.
Stamp "FLY" using Ransom alphabet stamps (Stampcraft) with
Versacraft Black. Allow to dry and then tie together.

Butterflies
by Cheryl Davidson, Reader Submission
On light blue cardstock, stamp a small
decorative stamp (unknown) and Butterfly verse (Make an Impression)
using VersaMark ink.
Cut 3 circles into the light blue cardstock.
Make sure they are large enough to show the butterfly punch image.
On the decorative paper (Deja Views Fresh
Prints,) punch 3 butterflies. Make sure to leave about 2" around the
punched images.
Cut around each punched image and place them
behind the open circles. While still holding the paper, flip the
cardstock over and use double-sided take to tape the squares down. I
placed the double-sided tape on top of the paper like you would do
if you were using regular tape. The tacky tape will help to hold
this layer to the background cardstock.
Once all of the punched images are positioned
in the circles, attached the light blue cardstock to the navy blue
cardstock. Layer this to a white card and it's done. |
