Time
to Go by Nancy Thaut
Begin with taping the outside border of a 4-1/4" by 5-1/2" cardstock
with painter’s masking tape. I added angle tapings with labeling
and cover-up tape, as both of these tapes seem to be able to be
peeled off, when the paint is dry, without tearing the card. Next I
painted the card with Lumiere metallic acrylic paint with a facial
sponge using colors: olive green, turquoise, bronze and gold. Once,
dry I peeled off the tape.
Stamp the lady (Stampland) twice, once on the card stock,
once on scrap paper. Cut the scrap paper out, being careful to get
close to the edge of the design. Put the scrap piece on top of the
card, covering your stamped image. Stamp the two clocks over the
scrap paper. The 2 clock stamps are by Yvonne Albritton Designs.
The right hand corner is a clock by Sugarloaf products. A bow is
attached to a clock button and glued into the left upper hand
corner. |
Mystique
Gaze by Heather Taylor
Based on the "Mystique Technique" by Sija Teijgeler, featured on the
Stone House Stamps website.
Stamp woman (Stone House Stamps) once on matte covered cardstock and
once on your mask paper with VersaCraft Black ink. I covered the
mask with a quick spray of fixative so the ink wouldn't come off
during sponging. Then stamp leaves (Rubber Stampede) also in black.
Dry with heat gun, then cover main image with mask. Sponge inks in
order of intensity; I used Ancient Page dye inks in Neptune, Jade,
Cobalt, Indigo, and Black. Stamp background stamp (Stone House
Stamps) in Jade, then remove mask. Gently sponge woman with a light
covering of Jade, then add shadows with Lavender. Squirt a little
blob of Brilliance White on an acrylic block or spare piece of
paper, then using a finger, dab lightly around the bottom of the
image and the face, blending carefully to give the "mystique" glow.
Mount on complementary cardstock. |

Music
to My Heart by Daylene Strickland
On a piece of
natural cardstock with gold flecks in it, stamp and emboss the image
(Stamps Happen) using black detail embossing powder. Stamp the
image again on a scrap piece of typing paper or masking product if
desired. (This will be a reverse mask.) Loosely trim a large area
around the main image. Using a craft knife, trim out the
center of the heart (top and bottom sections keeping music score
attached) leaving only a very thin edge of the border showing to
prevent halos. Color Box Petal Point Orchid was applied to the
center areas of the heart and Red Ruby the outer portion. A soft
tissue was used to blend the colors. After removing the mask, if
there are any areas lacking color, a small applicator may be used to
blend or add more color.
The music score
was accented with a glitter gold gel pen. Edges of this piece are
highlighted with a metallic gold pen and a music note added (by
Embellish It!). Red and black cardstock trimmed to make one layer
and gold ribbon (Stampin’ Up) down the center; then layered on gold
Star Dream paper and a last layer of speckled natural cardstock. |
Study
by Lis Whiting
Create your base card by folding a piece of 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 dark blue
confetti cardstock in half. Cut a piece of cream yellow cardstock to
5 x 3-3/4. Using the masking technique, first stamp the book and
globe stamp [Stamper’s Anonymous] and then the Sheet Music
[Stampington] over top. Cut out 3/4 inch circles of yellow cream and
stamp the letters STUDY on them using alphabet stamps [Creative
Imaginations]. Cut out 7/8 inch circles of dark blue confetti. Mount
the letters/circles on the dark blue and mount that onto your card
using glue dots or glue. |
Wake
Up Call by Karen Bourke
Take a piece of A5 cardstock and fold in half to make an A6
landscape card. Cut a piece of green cardstock 3 ¾ “ by 2 ½ “ and
stamp the large chicken in black StazOn ink. Create a mask for the
large chicken and place it over the image and stamp a smaller
chicken halfway over the mask to the right hand side. Stamp another
smaller image to the left of the large chicken. Remove the mask and
the smaller images will appear behind the larger one. Create another
mask for the smaller chicken on the right and stamp another image to
the right of that. (Stamps used are by Marberry House Designs at
marberryhouse@tiscali.co.uk).
Colour in the chickens using brush tip pens and let dry. Brush over
Mod Podge to seal and let this dry thoroughly. Using a Krylon gold
pen highlight the tail feathers of the chickens. Mount this onto a
piece of gold card and then onto a piece of dark green cardstock.
Place this onto your main card leaving room for your message.
On Letraset Safmat print out the message Wake up!! It’s a beautiful
day, cut to size and mount onto green cardstock the same width as
your main image. Mount this onto gold and then dark green card and
place, using double sided tape, onto the main card.
Using black StazOn, stamp your large chicken onto shrink plastic.
Cut around the image and shrink using a heat gun. Highlight areas of
the chicken with gold and glue onto the card.
Finally decorate the corners of the card with peel-offs and edge the
card with gold ink. |

poppies, layer over masked piece and use pop-dots at adhere. Layer
