Rubber Stamping: Diorama Cards

1. Fold and score an 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of neutral colored cardstock in fourths. Cut along fold line from one edge to center. Overlap two free flaps of cardstock. Trim excess cardstock along one side of floor. Cut a rectangle of black cardstock to cover floor. Glue black rectangle down to smaller sized flap.

2. Stamp a small leaf or floral pattern all over two walls (leaf stamp by www.nonsequiturstamps.com). Sprinkle immediately with gold embossing powder and heat with heat gun. Cut narrow strips of beige cardstock to create crown molding. Create an area rug by cutting an oval of beige cardstock. Use a black marker to create texture on rug. Glue rug to floor.

3. Cut out couch frame out of black or brown cardstock. Cut out upholstery piece using a printed cardstock. Hand draw in seat cushion and buttons in upholstery using a pencil. Trace over pencil with a black marker. Glue sofa pieces together.

4. Shrink photo of family cat down to fit on sofa. Print out on inkjet printer. Trim image and glue on sofa.

5. Cut a strip of black cardstock about one inch wide and three inches long. Fold in half to make a “V.” Fold ends slightly to make a flap. Glue one flap to back of couch, then inverted V, then glue second flap to floor. Position couch such that it can fold flat within rectangle of floor if card is folded up.
