Peacock Diorama

To make the frame:
I used a modified template from Chia's Rubber Stamp Art site [
http://www.houseofstirfry.com/chia/templates/tuncard01.html ]. Take a
1/2 piece of cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"), and working from the center out,
draw marks at 2 1/8", then 5 more at 1/4". The big rectangle in the center
will be the back of your frame--cut out the middle leaving a 3/4" border
all around. The folds will be valley-mountain-valley-mountain-valley-cut
(remember, you're working from the inside of the frame)

. Decorate the
outside as desired (I just sponged Jade and Ice Blue Brilliance inks over
a butterfly-patterned cardstock). Dry and set aside.
To make the innards:
1. On a 5.5" x 4.25" of acetate, stamp peacock (Enchanted Ink) in StazOn.
Let dry, then paint VersaMark reinker all over the image. With a small
paintbrush and Blue/Green Duo, Gold, and Reflex Violet Pearl Ex, color in
the image as shown. Clean off any stray Pearl Ex with a Q-Tip.
2. Stamp winter trees (All Night Media) and maidenhair fern (Fred B.
Mullett) on a piece of green cardstock 5.5" wide, then cut along the tree
line.
3. Cut a piece of cardstock that matches the frame and decorate it
likewise (5.5" x 4.25").
To assemble:
Line the inside of the frame with 1/4" double-sided adhesive top and
bottom, place acetate over top. On the next fold, line the bottom with
adhesive, and then attach the trees/ferns piece. Line the top and bottom
with adhesive on the next fold and attach the background. Make sure all
pieces face the front.
Attach another, undecorated piece of butterfly cardstock, also 5.5" x
4.25", to the very last fold, making sure the pattern is towards you.
To enable the piece to stand, cut a piece of cardstock 4"x4.5". Score at 1
1/2, 3, 3 1/2, and 4 (V,M,V,M). Attach last 1/2" to the inside of this
stand, then attach entire thing to the back of the peacock diorama with
double-sided adhesive, lining up the bottom of the stand with the bottom
of the card.
