Bargello
using Paint Chip by Karen Slusher
1. Using a paint chip sample from a home improvement store, cut thin
strips vertically across entire paint sample.
2. Cut a rectangle of white cardstock to 3-3/4” x 2-3/4”. Cover one side
with double stick tape and lay in front of you.
3. Line up the cut paint chip strips as shown in the sample. If you want
to be symmetrical, be sure to measure or somehow line up the pieces so
that they match on either side of the apex of the pattern.
4. As the paint chip strips extend off one end and leave a gap at the
opposite end, cut the extended pieces and use them to fill the gaps.
5. Once this rectangle is finished and trimmed, mount it to a slightly
larger piece of white cardstock, then two pieces of coordinating
cardstocks, then to a white, standard size card front.
6. Stamp 2-part swirl/leaf patterns (Close To My Heart) using gray and
black inks. Stamp them randomly on and off the Bargello piece, extending
to the card front, too.
7. Stamp “To Be Loved…” (CTMH) using gray ink on white paper. Trim
closely, rounding corners. Lightly sponge edge with black ink. Mount to
card using pop dots.
