"Veneficus Viridis" Witchaerie by Leigh Snaith-Brunton (The Sharpie Domino Queen)

I'd like to introduce you to my Witchaerie called Viridis Veneficus, which basically means green magical poisonous sorceress in Latin :)

Directions:
For this project you're going to need a super-sized domino straight from the tin. No surface preparation is needed. Stamp the image with Ancient Page Coal Black dye ink and heat set. Colour the image with Sharpie markers. Decorate the sides of the domino by copying the colours and design of the wings. My 'Sharpie Domino Queen' technique using Sharpies to decorate dominoes requires the shiny smooth surface of a new domino. The shiny surface allows you to apply and blend Sharpie colours easily. Colour 3 confetti bats with a silver Sharpie. Seal the decorated domino with a coat of Diamond Glaze. Add a silver bat to the domino while the glaze is still wet.

Make the bat wings by first deciding on the style of wing. I found lots of images of bat wings on the net. Then either use a background design from free background sites on the net or scan a background paper and then print out the background design onto acetate. Put the bat wing design under the acetate and trace out the wings. Run the printed acetate through a Xyron to add adhesive and adhere the acetate to silver mirror cardstock. Cut out the wings. Add detail to the wings with a silver metallic marker and adhere two confetti bats and green triangles to the wings with Diamond Glaze. Outline the wings with a silver Sharpie marker.

Wrap an orange and purple striped chenille stem around the domino, before twisting the stem ends together thread the loop of a tassel onto the stem. Then twist the chenille stem ends together and cut off the excess. Put a glue dot on the back of the domino and adhere the tassel loop to the back of the domino.

Remove a bat charm from an earring. Add wire to the charm loop and tie the charm to a small piece of the chenille stem. Then wrap the chenille stem around the wrapped part of the tassel.

Add more glue dots to the back of the domino and adhere the wings in place. As part of the design on the domino I extended the wings behind the lady. When adhering the wings line the wings up with the extended drawn wings.

To finish off the Witchaerie cut a piece of black felt or suede fabric slightly smaller than the domino and adhere to the back of the domino to hide all the glued areas.

But before doing that decide what you'd like to do with your witchaerie. If you'd like to make her into a hanging ornament then add ribbon or fiber to the back. If you'd like to make her into a planter decoration then adhere a wooden stake to the back of the domino. Then adhere the fabric backing and enjoy!
