'Scaredy Kitty Kat' Domino Doll By Kellisa Watkins
Reader Submission

Supplies:
3 ½” by 5” Cardboard
Standard domino
1 ¼ black pipe cleaner
4 black buttons
Marvy dye based ink –black #1 and terra cotta #88
Sharpie marker –yellow, red, and orange
Halloween Cat stamp by Rubber Stampede
Kraft Edger scissors –Flash
Diamond Glaze
Tacky Glue
Drill press with small bit
Heating tool

Directions:
First prepare the standard bone domino with a fine grit sanding block. Stamp image of Halloween Cat onto the domino and the cardboard. Set the cardboard aside. Use the heating tool to dry ink onto the domino. With a yellow Sharpie, color all open spaces of the image except for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Use a red Sharpie to color the nose and an orange Sharpie to color the mouth. Leave eyes clear. Replicate the same color pattern to stamped image on cardboard. Color the edges of the domino with a yellow Sharpie and blots of terra cotta dye ink. Heat set the image again. Drill 5 holes into the domino—a hole at the base of each leg and a hole at the base of the tail. Cover the domino with a thin coat of Diamond Glaze. Allow domino to air-dry for 24 hours.

Color outside the cardboard image with a yellow Sharpie. Use the terra cotta ink pad to mark a random background pattern. Trim the edges of the cardboard with the decorative scissors.

Cut pipe cleaner into fourths. Thread one end of the pipe cleaners to the black buttons to represent the feet. Thread the other end of the pipe cleaners through the holes to match up to the legs. Use the 5th quarter cut of pipe cleaner to thread through the hole that matches up to the tail.

Glue the completed domino to the card with Tacky Glue. Be careful to match the images for a 3D effect.
