Smackin’ Acetate with Twinkling H2O’s by Karen Slusher

Using 2 sheets of acetate a little larger than the size of a card front lay them on a protected work surface. Select at least 2 colors of Twinkling H2O’s and get them wet and ready to use. Dip a paint brush or H2O brush into the Twinkling H2O’s and smear a little of each color onto one sheet of the acetate. Keep the colors separate on the acetate so they don’t mix together too much. Now put the other piece of acetate on top and squish them together to blend the colors and move the colors around on the acetate. Pull the acetates apart, put two pieces of glossy white cardstock onto one of the pieces of acetate (sandwich the cardstock with glossy sides out), then put the other piece of acetate back on, sandwiching the cardstock in between. Rub all over to get the colors spread as much as possible, and then pull the acetate apart. Remove the cardstock from the acetate, allow it to dry, then trim and use as backgrounds. These two samples are from the same Smackin’ Acetate:

Sample #1 – Gold Heart

After the Twinkling H2O’s dry, splatter some gold on top, then drag a paint brush with gold on it across the cardstock to give an affect of “veining”. Cut a heart shape out of O’So Sticky double-sided tape and place in the center, then peel back liner and cover with gold beads and glitter. Trim long edges with gold leafing pen and mount onto plum card.
Sample #2 – Faux Tile background

After the Twinkling H2O’s dry, stamp mosaic tile stamp (Stampendous) in black dye ink and trim to edge of stamp. Stamp “Great Love” saying (Close To My Heart) onto white cardstock in lavender ink, mount onto black, then adhere to center of background. Mount all to white card front.
