“Falling Autumn Leaves”

Reader Submission

Score and fold a sheet of heavy cream coloured cardstock to make a long narrow card.
Punch or cut out three squares from the front of the card. Decorate the front of the card by randomly stamping leaf images (hand carved by Leigh Snaith-Brunton) in Versamark Watermark pigment ink (Tsukineko). Add colour to the stamped images by dusting Creative Chalks over the wet ink with a crafters sponge (Hobby Craft UK).

Cut out a panel of orange sugar paper the same size as the front of the card and adhere it in place behind the squares using double-sided tape. Stamp the large leaf image inside the 2 outer squares in coal black Ancient Page Dye Ink (Clearsnap).

Punch small holes near the fold on the front of the card on each side and then cut a length of colour coordinating eyelash fibre. Thread the fibre through the holes and secure with a knot on the left side of the card.

Add the words ‘Autumn Leaves’ to the bottom of the card using metallic gold peel-off sticker lettering (Hobby Craft UK).

For the focal point of the card decorate a Square Domino. Stamp the leaves image (Personal Impressions) in coal black Ancient Page dye ink onto a new shiny Square Domino and heat set. Colour each leaf in autumn colours using Sharpie markers and edge the domino with a broad point Liquid Copper paint marker (DecoColor). Adhere the Square Domino to the card with double-sided tape.
