Directions:
1) Using your personal cutter or cutting mat and knife, measure out and
cut the mat board or heavy board of your choice to size.
The book shown uses 5 panels that measure 2.5 x 4 inches.
2) Using a paper towel or stipple brush, dot on metallic inks in assorted
colors onto the mat board pieces.
3) Using decorative motif stamps (Creative Chaos Ornamental Accents V105
sheet) and permanent black ink, stamp an attractive pattern all over the
boards.
Do not be too particular as most of the board will be covered with layers
of cardstock.
Set the board pieces aside.
4) Cut 10 pieces black glossy card stock or your choice of layering paper
to size (2 x 3.5 inches).
Set aside.
5) Cut 10 pieces of cardstock you intend to stamp as your central images
to size (1.5 x 3 inches).
Stamp on background designs with chalk inks and the main image with
permanent black dye ink (India Ink).
Don't forget to stamp one of these pieces as your title.
6) Using adhesive, layer your stamped images onto the pieces of cardstock
you cut in step 4.
For your cover page, add the decorative paper clip if desired.
Set aside.
7) Cut your ribbon into 12 strips about two times the width of your mat
board pieces (8 inches long).
8) Using adhesive, stick down two pieces of ribbon on the left side of a
piece of mat board about 1/2 inch in from the top and bottom and about 1
in from the side.
Stick one piece of ribbon on the right side about 1 1/4 inches from the
top and bottom and about 1 inch in from the side.
Repeat with 3 more pieces of mat board.
Cover the ribbon with the layered pieces of cardstock you set aside in
step 6.
The ribbon ends will be hanging off the left and right sides.
One board will not have any ribbons or a stamped image on it at this time.
The first piece of mat board should have the title of your book on it.
9) Lay all the pieces of your book out in front of you, with the pieces of
mat board all in the same orientation.
Two pieces of ribbon should hang from the left side of each board and one
piece of ribbon from the right.
10) Place the title (first) board down in front of you.
Tuck the two ribbons UNDER the board so you now see the tips of the two
pieces of ribbon and one long ribbon on the right side of the board.
Take the second board and set it FACE DOWN and UPSIDE DOWN next to the
title board, over the center ribbon and taking the tails of the top and
bottom ribbons and resting them on top of this second panel.
The single ribbon of the second board should go over the title board.
Pick the tails of the two ribbons from the first board and adhere them to
the back of the second panel.
Take the center ribbon from the title board (which is now under the second
panel) and adhere it to the back of board two.
Cover with a stamped panel.
You should now have the title board and the second board with one ribbon
tail to the left and two ribbon tails to the right.
11) Line up the third board to the right of the second, with the third
board FACE UP and RIGHT SIDE UP and the second panels ribbons across the
top of the third board.
Fold the two ribbons on the left of the third board underneath, like you
did for the title board.
The center ribbon from the left side of the second board will run across
the front of the second board and will tuck under the left side of the
third board.
12) Flip everything over (be very careful and try not to twist your
ribbons).
Adhere the tail of the second board's center ribbon to the left edge of
the third board.
Adhere the tails of the outer ribbons to the right edge.
Cover with a stamped panel.
Be sure to get the orientation correct as this is the back of the ladder.
The orientation of board two is your guide.
The title board should be blank on this side.
13) Without flipping the boards over, line up the fourth board FACE UP but
UPSIDE DOWN.
Fold the center ribbon from the fourth board (which should be on the left)
under the board.
Tuck the ends of the two ribbons from the third board under the left side
of the fourth board.
Lay the center ribbon from the third board across the top of the fourth
board.
14) Flip the whole structure and adhere the tails of the two ribbons to
the left edge of the fourth board.
Fold the end of the central ribbon from the third board over and adhere it
to the right edge of the fourth panel.
Adhere a stamped and layered panel over the ribbons you just taped down.
It should be right side up.
15) Adhere a layered panel over the fifth board.
Line it up so the center ribbon from the left edge of board four lays
across board four and tucks under the right edge of the fifth board.
The two ribbons from board four will be across the top of board five.
16) Flip the whole structure over and stick down the last three ribbon
ends.
Adhere a stamped and layered panel over the ribbons you just taped down.
It should be upside down.
17) Adhere the last stamped and layered panel to the back of the title
board.
It should go under the single ribbon in the center of the first board.

To operate:
Hold the first panel in your hand and the book structure will drop down.
Turn your wrist and a cascade will start.
Turn your wrist back and get yet another cascade.
Try making this book with your own personal photographs.
