Stamps used for this project
are from www.paperartsy.co.uk – Petals – Plate 1 and Ancestors – Plate 2.
Cut out two pieces of copper measuring 3" square. Using alcohol inks
colour the fronts of both sides of copper.

Choose two stamps
(one for the front and one for the back of the book cover) and ink up with
Archival or Ancient Page ink. The ones used in this project are the large
faux postage face from the Petals plate and the Blackie Annual little girl
from the Ancestors plate. Stamp on top of the coloured copper.

Take a piece of tissue or kitchen roll and wipe over the copper – you will
find that the Archival ink has taken away the alcohol ink and you are left
with more of a “negative” image.

Cut two pieces of thick card to measure 2-3/4" each. Lay your copper
squares face down on your work surface. Cover one side of the card square
with glue and place carefully on the copper. Leave to dry. Cut the copper
corners diagonally and fold in the edges over the card.

Stamp the two images again onto plain copper (that has not been coloured)
with Staz-on ink. Carefully cut around the large flower and the wings. Use
an embossing mat and embossing tool to emboss areas of the flower and
wings.
(See Picture 5)

Turn the images over and carefully deboss around the
areas you have embossed from the other side – this will make them stand
out even further.

Use silicone glue (or dimensional glue) and
place them over the corresponding images on the copper covers.

Glue ribbon to each of the inside covers of the book to act as a closure.

Cut three squares of paper (plain or coloured/patterned) to 2-3/4" square.
Fold each in half, open out and turn 90 degrees and fold in half again.
Open out, turn the square over and fold in half diagonally. Open up and
turn over once again and you should be able to fold this into a "squash".
Complete this for all three pieces of paper. Glue the three pieces
together – valley, mountain, valley.
(See Picture 9)

Choose images from the
stamp plates to stamp over these pieces.

Close up the squash
book and attach the front and back covers to it and tie up the ribbon to
close.
