Koi by Maria Adams

Rubber Stamping Techniques
Grid Technique

Stamps used:
Stamp n’ Store Art stamps - Koi
Asian Character Background
Bamboo

Inks used:
Ranger Distress Ink - Broken China
Weathered Wood
Peeled Paint

Directions:
Stamp Koi, slightly off-center, on glossy cardstock with Broken China. Mask off image with low tack masking tape. Sponge the edges with a combination of the three inks.

Following the instructions for the Grid method, mask and sponge sections with the same three colors, shading them to different intensities as you wish.

Stamp shaded sections with other stamps. With glossy cardstock, you may need to dry off your work with a heat gun in between masking and stamping the sections.

Trim card to 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" and finish by running the Broken China ink pad along the edges of the card.

Mount on blue pearlescent cardstock.

Mask off 1-1/4" around the edge of 5" x 6-1/2" white card, and sponge with a combination of distressed inks used.

Stamp Bamboo on the right hand edge using Broken China and Peeled Paint inks and very lightly sponge around the Bamboo image with the sponge you have been using. There is no need to re-ink the sponge, as you only need the slightest hint of color.

Mount matted image on the card, and edge the card with a gold Krylon pen.
