Instructions:
1. Condition clay per package instructions.
2. After conditioning, run ecru block through machine at highest setting.
Trim two 4 x 4 pieces from the clay using a clay blade. Set Aside.
3. Mix half block of gold premo with half block of copper premo. Run
through pasta machine until you get a marbled effect. Run at highest
setting then trim one large piece from the clay. Return the rest to the
machine and run consecutively until you get to the third thickest setting.
Then trim various slits from the clay.
4. Choose a texture template. Spritz with alcohol, then set the large
piece
of mixed copper clay on top of the template and run both through the pasta
machine together. Cut a circle from the scraps of the textured piece. Set
aside.
5. Set the textured piece on one of the 4 x 4 ecru pieces. They should
adhere together. Then trim that block down to 3 x 3. This is the back of
your book.
6. Get the other 4 x 4 ecru piece and cover with the slits of mixed copper
clay.
Trim to a 3 x 3 piece. This is the front of the book.
7. To complete the cover piece before baking, adhere textured circle to
center of the front cover. Press fairy charm into front. Then push two
gold eyelets on left side about a half inch from the top and bottom and a
quarter inch in. Hollow out the holes with an awl.
8. Return to the back of your book and add eyelets as described in step 7.
To complete the cover piece before baking, adhere textured circle to
center of the front cover. Press fairy charm into front. Then push two
gold eyelets on left side about a half inch from the top and bottom and a
quarter inch in. Hollow out the holes with an awl.
9. Now you will bake the front & back cover per mfg directions.
10. While that is baking cut about 20 - 2 x 2 inch pages for the book
from white lightweight paper. Set aside.
11. After clay has baked and cooled, reinforce eyelet holes with awl.
12. Use clip to hold inner pages together then set the pages on either the
front and back cover and poke through all pages with awl.
13. Once all your holes are completed wrap wire through the front of one
set of eyelet holes through the pages and out the back. Wrap around again.
You should end up in the front and twist those two pieces together. Do the
same for the bottom hole.
14. String beads on bottom wire up to the top hole and twist all four
pieces together.
15. Bend wire and string one bead on each of the four.
