Faux Dichroic Glass Pendant by
Karen Bourke
Take a piece of tumbled (etched) glass and a sheet of craft foil.
(See Picture 1)

For this project you cannot use clear glass as the embossing powder needs
the etched surface to cling to. Heat your melting pot to its highest
setting and place the etched glass in the pot.
(See Picture 2)
 In about 5 seconds the
glass will become the same heat as the pot. Lay out your craft foil on a
non stick surface with the foiled side down. Use a spoon to pour UTEE
embossing powder onto the glass surface.
(See Picture 3)

As soon as it has melted
remove the glass piece with a non-stick spatula and place it embossed side
down onto the craft foil.
(See Picture 4)

Leave to cool down (approximately 5 minutes) and then remove glass from
foil. As you will see the foil has stuck to the embossed piece of glass.
Next return your piece to the melting pot and place coloured embossing
powders in a random pattern over the glass.
(See Picture 5)

As the glass heats you
will see the foil cracking; this is perfectly normal. When all the
coloured embossing powder has melted pour more UTEE over the glass,
starting in the centre and working outwards.
(See Picture 6)

Working quickly
before too much of the glaze runs off use your non-stick spatula to remove
the piece from the pan and place on your non-stick craft sheet. Turn off
your melting pot and clean up any remaining liquid with kitchen towel.
Let your glass pendant cool and harden for approximately 10 minutes.
(See Picture 7)

Take a piece of silver wire and fashion into a pleasing shape. Attach
a charm to the end and glue in place on the front of the pendant.
(See Picture 8)

When completely dry turn the pendant over and attach a fastening to enable
you to thread a chain through.
