Apple of My Eye Card by
Karen Slusher
Stamp apple (Rubber Stampede) with black StazOn ink (or any black,
waterproof ink) onto white cardstock. Using paintbrush and water, paint
apple with Twinkling H2O's - sample is made using red and copper on apple,
green and yellow on leaf, and combination of these colors to create brown
on stem. When dry, tear paper close to apple along top and left side,
and
then trim straight on bottom and right side. Sponge red ink onto torn
edges; set aside.
Stamp swirls (Romantic Backgrounds by CTMH) using red and garnet inks onto
white cardstock that's 5-1/2" by approx. 2". Tear right side to
approximately 1-1/2" wide, then sponge red ink onto torn edge; set aside.
Print "YOU'RE THE APPLE OF MY EYE" onto white paper using desired font. Finished size should be no longer than 3-1/2" wide (sample is 3-1/2" x
1/2"). Trim a piece of white cardstock to 3-7/8" x 7/8"
and sponge the
edge with red ink. Lay a piece of O'So Sticky tape in the center of this
cardstock - the measurement of the tape should be just slightly smaller
than the cardstock. Peel off the liner of the tape, then lay the printed
piece ("YOU'RE THE...") into the center of the tape. Dip the entire piece
into red opaque microbeads (Pennywise Arts) and press the beads into the
exposed band of O'So Sticky tape. Set this aside, too.
Cut and fold a piece of cardstock to standard card size (folded 4-1/4" x
5-1/2"). Also cut a piece of red textured paper to this size, and then
attach to the front of the card. Now adhere the apple, the swirl strip
and
the beaded word strip as shown in the sample. When finished, tie a piece
of red organdy ribbon around the front of the card, laying across the
swirl strip as shown.
