Patriotic Card Ideas

Micro Beads from PennyWiseArts.com

Beaded Flag by Chriss Grabb

 
Directions:
Cut white and red cardstock scraps into strips - 4 red, 3 white.
Cover each strip with double-sided tape.
Dip white strips into clear micro beads.
Dip red strips into red micro beads.
Set aside.
Cut patterned faux batik paper into rectangle and attach to left side of
white cardstock.
Attach alternating red and clear beaded strips to right side of card to make
flag.
Layer onto blue cardstock.
Layer onto red card.

Supplies:

"We The People" set  of stamps from Dream Impressions

Flag background stamp by Peddler’s Pack

 

Directions:

Stamp the background onto an A2 sized ivory card.

Stamp all of the different design elements onto ivory cardstock with different color inks.

Tear around the images and edge the torn sides with the same dye ink used to stamp the image.

Punch heart from O'So Sticky Paperback tape.

Peel off one side of the tape and dip the heart shape into red opaque micro beads.  

Press the beads into the tape to firmly adhere them to the punched shape.

Adhere the various images to the card base using your favorite two way tape and foam mounting tape as seen on the sample.

Stamp of Stripes by Stampin' Up

Star Stamp is unmounted & unknown


 Directions:
Cover shaker box with faux batik paper and assemble.
Add red, blue and clear micro beads to shaker box.
Add 5 star rhinestones.
Close shaker box with white cardstock trimmed to star shape.
Apply O’So Sticky tape around outside edge of box and dip in red
micro beads.
Mount red, white and blue ribbons to lower half of box bottom.
Mount red ribbon hanger to top of box.
Finish back with blue cardstock trimmed to star shape. This will cover all
your ribbon ends.

Stamp red stripes and blue stars on white cardstock.

Mount onto the blue folded card.

Now attach the star shaker box to the card front with O’So sticky tape

Star Stamp by Dream Impressions

 

Directions:

On white cardstock, mask off area for stars and stamp in VersaMark, emboss with clear powder and while still masked, smear navy pad over. 
Wipe off excess to reveal stars. 

Remove mask and run strips of tape for red stripes. 

In a container with sides, pour red beads over and coat well. 
Then press beads into tape.

Layer flag on red cardstock.

Fold Blue cardstock for main card and stamp a few stars along edge in Navy. 

Layer flag onto the Blue card.

Alphabet Punches by CuttingEdge

 

Directions:

1. Score and fold a white card 4 ¼ X 5 ½ .

2. Cut out 3 small Coluzzle tags from white cardstock.

3. Punch a letter in the center of each tag.

4. Use the BloPens to put some color on the tags.

5. Cut squares of O’So stick tape to put behind the letters.

6. Set O’So tape square on table, Peel off top liner and set the tag on top being careful that the tape is under the letters. (Do Not turn the tag over and put tape on the back or it will stick to your work surface).

7. Pour red PWA Micro Beads on the front of the tag for beaded letters.

8. Use an old brayer or other flat object to press beads into the O’So tape.

9. Punch a small hole in the top of each tag for ribbon.

10 Thread the ribbon through the hole so the ends are in the front.

11. Put the ends through the loop in the back and tighten carefully.

12. Cut the ends of the ribbon to fit on the card.

13. Attach tags to the blue Perle cardstock.

14. Layer onto  4 ¼ X 5 ½ red cardstock and attach to the white card.

Stamps:

     Statue of Liberty by A Stamp in the Hand

    God Bless America Script by Stamping Ground

     God Bless America Word Stamp by Stamping Ground

 

Directions:

1. Score and fold a white card 4 ¼ X 5 ½ .

2. Stamp Statue of Liberty on 3 ¾ X 5 white cardstock.

3. Make a mask of the Statue of Liberty and place on top.

4. Stamp the script stamp angled and to the right of the statue.

5. Stamp God Bless America on white cardstock.

6. Peel off paper backing on O’So Sticky tape and set on slide mount.

7. With a craft knife, cut out the center section of tape.

8. Attach Stamped cardstock to back of slide mount.

9. Peel the plastic liner from the front of slide mount and pour on red beads.

10. Use an old brayer or other flat object to press beads into the O’So tape.

11. Attach beaded slide mount to card front.

12. Layer onto 3 ⅞ X 5 ⅛ black, then 4 ¼ X 5 ½ red and then attach to the white card.

CELEBRATE by Mary Drinkwater

Directions:
Print (or stamp) an image on the white side of the O'So Sticky Tape

Cut out selected areas (on this image they were the red firework trails)
and apply to white cardstock. 

Peel the pink liner from the image and pour red micro beads over image. 

Press lightly to make sure that all beads have adhered to tape.
Fill in star image with gold glitter glue (or gold beads could also be
used). 

When dry cut around image with decorative scissors and color
edges with red and gold ink using DTP method. 

Cut four strips of O'So Sticky Tape and make a frame on the blue cardstock.  

Apply beads and then cut out the frame. Adhere to glossy cardstock. 

Glue or tape gold tissue paper to blue cardstock cut from center of frame then tape or glue into the center of the frame leaving about 1/8" of white all around.
Tie ribbons or fiber around front of card and make a bow in upper left corner. 
Apply star sticker to center of bow.
