Snowflake Fairy by Deirdre E.

Begin with a new standard size domino. Use a very small drill bit to drill a hole from the top of the domino, all the way through to the bottom. Then drill another hole all the way through from one side of the domino to the other about 1/2" from the top. These will be the holes for the fairies arms.

Next, use a stamp portraying an art nouveau woman, ink up the stamp then lay it out, bring the domino to the stamp so that only the chest and neck of the woman will be transferred to the front of your domino. (Hold the domino with the arm holes as the top of the domino when stamping your image.) (See Picture 1)

Heat set, then color the dress on the domino with light blue, dark blue and silver sharpie markers. Spray with fixative and one coat of sealant (both Krylon)

While that dries, do a Google search for a non-copyrighted image of a vintage woman. Print a picture making sure the face is about 1 inch long and 1/2" wide. Cut the face out, trace it onto thin cardboard twice, cut those out as well. Glue the face to one piece of cardboard. Cut a 24 gauge piece of craft wire, 5 inches long. Line up the cardboard pieces with the face showing on top, the wire in the middle then the other cardboard cut out on the bottom. Glue ( E500) together keeping the wire centered in the middle. After the glue dries, run a blue bead up the bottom of the wire. Dab the bottom of the bead with glue and run the domino up to rest right under the bead. Let dry. (See Picture 2)

Cut a 4 inch piece of craft wire (24 gauge), run it through the side holes of your domino. Center it, dab the holes with glue, let dry. Curl the wire to look like arms, add blue, silver, and clear beads, 5 or 6 on each side. Curl the very ends of the wire into loops to form the hands and to keep the beads in place. (See Picture 3)

Cut a piece of sheer blue material, 2-1/2" by 10", wrap it around the “waist” of the fairy to make her skirt and glue into place. Cut a piece of white lacy ribbon to wrap around the top of the skirt, glue into place. To accent the skirt, glue on a small snowflake at the waist.

Cut 8 pieces of white yarn (Lions Brand Fun Fur) in varying lengths. Lay them all together and tie the bundle off in the middle to make the hair. Glue onto the top and back of the cardboard head. Attach small snowflakes throughout the hair with glue. (See Picture 4)

Cut another piece of lacy ribbon, 5 inches long. Glue the edges to the back of the fairy head to create a loop that the fairy can hang from.

Last, use a small twig (Backyard, or local craft store) for her wand, glue a small snowflake onto the very tip, glue the bottom into place in her upraised hand and let dry. (See Picture 5)
