Shattered Holographic Tile Card by Linda Strawn

This technique looks like clear holographic glass; it is iridescent Mylar cellophane tissue that gives this appearance. When shopping for the Mylar make sure you are getting a heat resistant product. I found mine in a craft store among the wrapping papers.

Directions:

1. Pour about 1/2 cup of ultra thick embossing enamel or UTEE into a melting pot, both products are available from Ranger industries. Cover with the lid and turn on high, do not stir. (See Picture 1)



2. Cut off a piece of Mylar that will fit your stamp and set this on a Teflon craft sheet, also available from Ranger. Using Jet black archival ink from Ranger stamp #2285H 3 muses onto Mylar. (See Picture 2)



3. When UTEE is completely melted carefully pour a puddle to completely cover stamping. (See Picture 3)



4. When UTEE is cool enough to handle but still warm cut into tiles at different angles, making sure to keep most of the face intact. Let cool completely. (See Picture 4)



5. Using top (Woodside) of stamp position tiles

6. On lavender printed paper use a dab of diamond glaze and glue the tiles to the paper. Let dry completely. (See Picture 5)



7. Using a slide frame, cover with lavender paper and cut tile to fit inside. See finished picture. You can fill in any large holes with extra diamond glaze. Let dry.

8. Matt this piece onto black cardstock, then onto gold cardstock and last onto a harlequin black and tan diamond paper, tear around top and bottom and mount this piece onto a black glossy card.

9. Add a copper key along right edge and a copper inspire plate secured with 2 copper brads.
