Triptych Nativity Popup Card by Linda Strawn

1- Trace triptych # 2 Template (Click here for template)  onto scratch paper.  Alter this template by extending the lines from the middle panel down 4-1/4" add tabs to the first and 3rd panel 3/4" thick by the length of the panels.  (See Template Picture)
Trace this pattern onto navy blue cardstock.  Cut on solid lines and score on dashed lines. (See Picture 1)

2- Ink with Versa Magic cloud white ink, stamp # E-58-433, star making sure to not ink up the very largest star on this stamp. Stamp a series of stars down onto the entire triptych but leaving the bottom and tabs free of stamping. (See Picture 2)

3- Fold the triptych on score lines, bringing the sides in, and add a glue dot to the tabs on the side and glue these tabs under the bottom. This will make your triptych stand up.  (See Finished Picture)

4- On white cardstock with black ink, stamp nativity from Stampendous and color as desired using soft color pencils. Cut out and set aside.

5- On white cardstock with black ink stamp #E514, Shepard mouse, from Darcie the following, F220 shhh…it’s him, Y-2317, nativity scene, D-2373 small donkey, Z-2970 solid eastern sky, Z-4562 manger frame and from stamp city #Z2701 Star, and stamp 3 times #I 67-124 from Stampa Rosa lamb. Color all images with color pencils and then cut out just the components as seen in picture 4.
Note, I used just parts of the scene on some stamps. For the large star I extended the longest ray using a black fine line pen. Add glue to the star and yellow glitter, set aside and let dry and cut out.

6- To make my images stand up I used pop blocks available from Judikins, the product name is popeze. These are long scored strips of Mylar that are scored and sticky and when folded together they make a collapsible cube. To use, peel off a pop block and with sticky side out, bend pop block at score lines and fold together to create a cube by overlapping ends. This will make a cube.

7- Make a cube for each small animal, See picture 5
and picture 2
for the nativity and stick on the back of each image. Place the 2 cubes for the nativity on the fold of the triptych. Do not place a cube on the solid eastern sky or the star, or the saying. Glue these to the triptych, see finished picture for placement.

8- First stick on the nativity (See Picture 3)
then add the 1/2 cow to the right side of stable by adding the pop block to the leg of the nativity, (See Picture 6)
stick on the cow, next stick on the animals and the Shepard as shown in the finished picture.

Note: If you have trouble getting your images and cubes to stick, try adding a glue dot to secure. If you want your card to fold down flat for mailing, be sure and place all images far enough away from each other that they will fold flat, as the cubes are collapsible.
