ART-WOMAN-BEAUTY by
Heather Taylor
Create a pattern for your triptych (see
pattern). I chose to make mine three rectangular panels of 3.5"
apiece, with 1/2" legs on the bottom, from one 10.5" x 5.5" piece of blue
gloss cardstock. I made the back out of metallic silver cardstock, cutting
it 2/8" larger on the sides and scoring twice for each panel so that it
would fit well when closed.
With a graphics program (I used InDesign by Adobe, but you could easily
use Photoshop or something similar), lay out your design with the words
"ART", "WOMAN", and "BEAUTY" so that each letter touches. Stroke with a
1/4 pt. stroke, then print out on the gloss side. Cut the pattern to size,
including the legs, and cut out the spare parts of the letters. Score the
cardstock into your three panels, but don't fold it yet.
On the gloss side of the card, squiggle some Ranger Alcohol Ink Blending
fluid. For the left panel I used Ranger Stream & Piñata white & baja blue:
drop a few drops of each over the panel, then use your finger to move the
inks around, including over the letters. Do the same for the middle panel
with Ranger Pearl & Piñata purple passion, then Ranger Stonewashed, &
Pearl, and Piñata Baja Blue for the right panel. Let dry for a while and
then finish off with a heat gun.

Stamp images (left: Non Sequitur; middle: Frantic Stamper; right: Art
Neko) in black embossed with clear, or with Versamark embossed with
silver. On a spare piece of silver cardstock left over from creating the
back panels, stamp all three images in Versacraft black and dry with heat
gun. Take 3 square adhesive clear tiles and place over the black images.
Cut out with Exacto knife, then apply in spotlight fashion to the inside
images.

For the outside: Stamp "the face is the icon of creation" collage stamp
(Non Sequitur) twice with VersaMark and emboss in clear. Then take oil
pastels in blue, green, purple, and silver, and lightly scribble in
patches of color. Use a paper towel moistened with mineral oil to spread
the color around, and then lightly sprinkle with Moonglow Willow Gold
embossing powder all over.

Take a spare piece of silver cardstock and emboss "art" (from
Junque) with Moonglow
Hydrangea; attach to front outside panel with 3-D foam tape. On a scrap
piece of painted paper, stamp woman's face (Art Neko); glue to front
outside panel, then cover with Judi-Kins' Diamond Glaze; let set overnight
to give a raised, "pebble" appearance.

Attach inside to outside with double-stick tape, starting with the middle
panel and folding closed before you attach the other two panels, so as to
make sure it -can- close.
