Oval Iris Folding by Bernardine Farmer

1. Fold red cardstock in half to make a 7" x 5" card.

2. Cut a 4" x 6" piece of cream cardstock. Punch corners with EK Success Victorian Lace. Attach to front of red card.

3. Using Creative Memories oval cutters, cut a red oval 4-3/4" long. Cut a 3-1/4" oval from the center of it. Run outside edges through a gold ink pad and then emboss with gold embossing powder.

4. Cut 3 strips that are 1-1/2" wide of each color to be used and fold lengthwise to make 3/4" strips.

5. On the backside of the oval, attach first color according to diagram (example), cutting to correct length. Check the front of the card for gaps and tape down at the top, middle and bottom.

6. Go to second color and attach from the point the first one ended to the middle of the oval’s next side (follow diagram).

7. Continue with all colors, moving around the oval.

8. The center section may be finished with two colors or an accent color in the middle. Attach to card.

9. Tie a loose knot in three 10” Mizuhiki cords and attach to card.
