Dad’s Roses by Lis Whiting
Scrapbooking with Rubber Stamps

Build your base (12 x 12):
Use a piece of pink cardstock as the base for your page. Take a coordinating piece of pink striped scrapbook paper (you might want to use a paper that has more colors in it than just one for the stripe) (12 x 12) and cut in half. Glue half to the lower portion of the pink cardstock. Cut a one inch strip and place about one inch below the top.

Your Title:
Punch out small tags [paper shaper tag punch]. Punch out a hole in the top center of each tag. Take pink chalk ink [Colorbox] and edge each tag. Use 1 inch letter stickers or die cuts [Sizzix Shadow case used here]. I used a green paper for the letters here. Place one letter in the middle of each tag. String fiber through all tags. Place each tag over top of the one inch strip at the top of your page. As you are laying down the tags and attaching them, arrange them along the fiber line. Remember to leave enough fiber to wrap around and fasten to the back of your page so the ends don’t show.

Frame for Picture:
Cut out an appropriately sized frame for your picture. Take several different colors of chalk ink [Colorbox] and, using the Direct to Paper technique, press the ink pads to the frame to color it. Add the picture behind the frame and attach to the page so that the middle of the picture lies over where the pink card and striped paper meet.

Journaling:
Take a large shipping tag. Color the edge with pink chalk ink [Colorbox]. Write the date at the top and journal about your picture. Attach fibers. Take a glassine envelope and tear it at the top. Edge the torn part with pink ink. Attach this to your page on the striped paper in the lower right with double stick tape, dots or run the envelope through your Xyron. Place the tag inside.

Final Embellishments:
Punch several 1 inch flowers [Marvy flower punch]. Cut one of the flowers in half. Place half at the edge of the striped paper on one side and then the other half on the other side. Place the other flowers randomly around your page. Place buttons [yellow and purple used here] in the centers of the flowers. I colored the half centers with purple chalk ink. Don’t forget to place a couple of flowers on your frame and one on your tag envelope.
