Purple
& Red Lollypop card by Betty McCommon
Shirley Temple stamp from
www.Stampsmith.net
Swirl background stamp from Dream Impressions
Tips for using photo stamps:
When you first use any stamp, especially photo ones, you need to
get all of the releasing agent off so the ink will cling evenly.
Scrub with a toothbrush under water (if unmounted), use stamp
cleaning pad, rub on your jeans or sand with a very fine grit
sandpaper. Use whatever you have, then clean them VERY GOOD. Photo
stamps need to be very clean and remember when working with photo
stamps, you HAVE to have cushion to get a good image if they
aren't mounted with any. I use an old mouse pad or some rubber
shelf liner. It does take some practice.
Directions:
Sand any writing off the laminate chip with a fine grit sandpaper.
Stamp Shirley Temple stamp on chip with purple StazOn, set aside
to dry.
Take a plain piece of tissue paper about 10X10 inches. Grab the
center and twist, into a long piece of tissue. Then with the red
and purple reinkers, drop ink around the tissue in lines. (Unless
you want purple and red fingers, it's best to wear rubber
gloves....I know from experience!) Let it soak in for awhile,
untwist, spritz with water and iron to dry between a couple sheets
of plain paper to protect your iron.
I tried to cut the tissue with a circle cutter, it didn't work. I
found a small bowl about the size I wanted, traced around and cut
it out. Then I used my circle cutter to cut a purple and red
cardstock to layer tissue on.
Generate computer text on white cardstock with red ink. Mask text
and stamp swirl background in both red and purple ink randomly.
Layer onto the purple cardstock and then card base.
Assemble as shown. Mount the laminate chip with foam mounting tape
to the circle to emulate a lollypop. Tie ribbon on stick. Glue to
card below chip with clear drying glue.
