Stuffed Envelope

This isn’t a new idea (it was originally seen on Carol Duval), but it is a
slightly different twist.
First, gather and cut all of your supplies:
Two 6-1/4" x 5" pieces of cardboard, mat board, chip board, etc
Two 7-1/4" x 6" pieces of decorative paper
Four A2 (5-3/4" x 4-1/2") vellum envelopes
13-1/2" x 6" card stock
18” of coordinating ribbon, cut in half
Two 5-1/2” x 4” pieces of doubled sided tape
Scissors and/or paper cutter
Ruler or straight edge
Scoring tool
Glue and/or double stick tape |

Directions:
1. Glue your paper to the center of your matt board. (You may also want to
run the cardboard through a Xyron for extra strength.) Fold edges of paper
and glue to the backside. (see pic 1)
I am using mulberry paper; however, you can also stamp onto text weight
paper and use that. If making a photo album, add a picture and frame to
the front.
2. Fold your 13-1/2” piece of cardstock in half, to make
it 6” x 6-3/4”
Score nine folds, 1/2 inch apart, accordion-style.
If using white card, you can stipple this piece before folding. I used
“painting with ink” technique.
3. Add doubled sided tape to the inside part of your covers. Attach
ribbon. Attach accordion cardstock. (see pic 2)
4. Add thin strips of double stick tape to the back side of each fold.
Attach envelopes. (see pic 3)
5. Set a heavy book on top to help flatten the book.
6. Create cards, tags, etc to fill the envelopes. These also work great as
small photo albums. Tie the ribbon and enjoy. |
