out and cut the kimono template from the Mirkwood Designs website using
blue cardstock. (
www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/templates.htm )
Cut 2 pieces of thin copper sheeting (source: Home Depot roofing) large
enough to cover the left and right front sides of the kimono. Put the
copper sheeting pieces through the Xyron with the permanent adhesive
cartridge.
Adhere the copper sheeting to left and right front of kimono template.
Carefully trim excess copper. (Watch out for sharp edges!)
Cover all bare copper edges with 1/4 inch copper foil tape (source:
Stained Glass Dept., Hobby Lobby). (Fold tape in half trapping raw edge in
fold.)
(Optional) Stain copper using Adirondack Alcohol Ink in "Lettuce" on a
cosmetic sponge.
Stamp Asian domino images onto kimono front using StazOn inkpad. Dry
emboss images using a metal stylus.
Sprinkle Opalites embossing powder (
www.amstamps.com )
on images and heat to melt. (Images will look a little abstract.)
Fold sides of kimono closed. Tie a piece of ribbon around the waist of the
kimono, making a bow on the back of the card. |
