CELEBRATE, A Monthly Tag Book by Barbara Albrecht

This little library pocket book was created to record birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions that you want to remember. It was inspired by a little book made by my daughter. Thank You Kimber!! The book has a library pocket & tag for each month of the year.

This book CELEBRATES both the art of Da Vinci and the events that are important in my life!!

All the Leonardo Da Vinci stamps were generously supplied by Kristy of Time to Stamp. Many, many thanks Kristy for letting me pick stamps from one of my favorite artists, Leonardo Da Vinci!!!!

I totally enjoyed making the book and hope you’ll give it a try. There are so many possibilities.
Monthly pages;  January - December

January and February Tags
DIRECTIONS

Library pocket (Click here for template)
1. Cut 12 library pockets from plain cardstock using template as a guide.
2. Score and fold on dotted lines. Fold tabs to the back of the pocket and adhere.
3. Choose patterned papers for each pocket. Measure and cut 3 3/4” x 3 1/4” and  2 1/2” x 3 1/4” rectangles from patterned papers to cover each pocket.
4. Adhere patterned paper rectangles to appropriate parts of the front of the pocket.

Tags
1. Twelve tags are cut from cardstock coordinating with patterned papers. Tag dimensions are 5 3/4” x 3”.
2. Stamp and decorate each tag front as desired.
3. Attach ribbon to top center of tag front using favorite method. I used the Fastenater for the majority of my tags.
4. Adhere month/date print out to back of tag. See photo for print out idea. I created mine using Excel – 2 columns wide with 32 rows, name of month in top row, dates in left column.
5. Set tags aside until book is constructed.
Spine
Accordion fold a strip of cardstock 6 Ό” high x 7” long. Measure and score (along long edge) 1” from each end. Measure, score the remaining space at ½” intervals. Fold using alternating valley and mountain folds.

Covers
1. Measure and cut 2 pieces of chip board 3 3/8” x 6 3/8”.
2. Measure and cut 2 pieces of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterned paper the same size as the chip board.
3. Adhere one piece of patterned paper to each piece of chip board. This will be the inside surface of both covers. Color edges of chip board with coordinating ink pad or marker so raw edges aren’t evident.
4. Decorate the 2 pieces of cardstock as desired. These will be the outside covers and will be put on last. Set aside.

Construction
1. Arrange pockets in order of insertion in the book.
2. Pocket #1 (January) is attached to the left 1” edge of the accordion spine. The right edge of the pocket should sit about 1/8” from the first fold.
3. Pocket #2 (February) is attached to the accordion spine facing pocket #1. The left side of the pocket should be about 1/8” from the fold.
3. Continue attaching pockets as above.
3. Adhere pocket backs to each other to form the pages.
4. Attach chip board covers to 1st and last pockets (January & December) with patterned paper side of the chipboard to the back of the pockets.
5. Cut 2 9”-10” pieces of coordinating ribbon. Attach to chip board covers so book can be tied to close book.
6. Adhere decorated cardstock covers to chip board.
7. Insert tags.

You are finished!!! Don’t forget to sign your art! Use and ENJOY your book!!!
