Henna Inspired Flower Necklace by Deirdre

Drill holes through the sides of three new dominos, about a half inch from the tops.

Use tape on the backsides of the dominos to attach them to a flat surface to make them easier to work on. Line them up side by side, as close to each other as possible, with all the drilled holes at the top.

Place a white guitar pick on the bottom of the middle domino with the point of the guitar pick facing the middle. Use a brown sharpie marker to trace the entire outside edge of the guitar pick. This will be your first flower petal.
Repeat as shown in See Picture 1

Color the guitar pick with a light pink sharpie marker and then heat set. Put on the back of the guitar pick and place at the top of the middle domino. With the same light pink marker, color in the remaining 3 flower petals.

Decorate the flower petals with a henna pattern with a brown sharpie marker. Take care to keep the dominos tightly in place so your design lines up nicely between the three dominos. See Picture 2

After the henna design is complete pull the dominos off the flat surface they’re taped to and color the edges of the dominos with a gold paint pen (Elmer’s metallic Painters). Use a fixative to set the colors and then a sealant (both from Krylon). Let them dry completely overnight.

Pull the guitar pick off the domino and remove the tape. Add glue to the pick to put it permanently into place - lining it back up with the traced line.
String the dominos onto a brown rattail cord and cut to desired length. Center the dominos on the cord and add a crimp bead to either side. Hold the dominos tightly together then squeeze the crimp beads closed. To finish the necklace use crimp beads with hoops on each end and toggle clasps. See Picture 3
