Sweet Sassy Girly Girl Scrapbook Page by Jill-Marie
Anyone who knows me knows that I love to use up absolutely every scrap of fiber, paper, thread, ribbon, etc. I always have little boxes overflowing with odds and ends of excess that I just don’t have the heart to toss away. When Leigh asked us to incorporate guitar picks into our domino creation, I was already working on a challenge for another group for a mini page with lots of embellishments. A chunky page. The two ideas just sort of came together to be one project. Part of the original challenge was to use what you had, and for me that left a lot to choose from! So why I cannot give you exact directions to create this exact page, you will get the idea and hopefully find many small pieces to make your next chunky page just as sweet & sassy as this one! For this project you will need a large square domino as well as a medium size domino. Sponge Opera Pink Versacolor ink onto the surface of both dominos and heat set. Then add some contrasting JavaBrown VersaMagic ink on the edges and lightly over the pink just for some contrast. Heat set. Stamp the party dress (Hero Arts) onto the square domino with Vibrant Violet StazOn ink and heat set. Wrap some scraps of brown & pink ribbon around both ends and secure to the back with double sided tape. Then stamp the same dress on white cardstock, fill in color with Adirondack pens and attach to the domino with sticky dots. Add 2 guitar picks and then attach the entire piece to a bit of pink corrugated cardboard. I found some odd bits of pink & brown paper and added them to my 6” X 9” light pink cardstock after edging them with dark brown ColorBox ink, for journaling & photo mats. Attach the medium domino with double sided tape to one of these. Add a couple of flowers (Making Memories) extra pink & brown ribbon on the corners (Making Memories) some alphabet letters strung on wire, another guitar pick (All My Memories) another stamped party dress image (Hero Arts) and a final addition of 3-D sticker left over from a previous project. This page will not be suitable for inside of a scrapbook as it is very chunky, but it will be lovely in a deep set frame as a ‘grandma’ gift once photos from a special occasion are added. |
