Gift Boxes by Leigh
Snaith-Brunton
The Curious Metallics and Stardream cardstock provided by
A Stampin'
Place's Yellow Rose Art Stamps is so gorgeous I was inspired to create
gift boxes. I wanted these boxes to be so lovely that they could be the
gift in itself or they can hold an extra special gift.
Gift Box 1
Supplies:
Stardream Ruby cardstock -
A Stampin'
Place's Yellow Rose Art Stamps
Gold edged burgundy ribbon
wired gold ribbon
silk poinsettias
holly leaves and berries
tag punch
tiny hole punch
thin gold wire
Box Maker
scissors
double-sided sticky tape
glue gun
gold metallic paint pen (fine and medium points)
Directions:
Determine the size of the box you want to make and cut two pieces of the
burgundy cardstock (for the top and bottom) using the guidelines provided
with the box maker. Create the box using the box maker and assemble. Use
double-sided sticky tape to adhere the flaps. Sticky tape two separate
lengths of the gold edged burgundy ribbon just to the top of the box to
form a cross. This way the gift box can be opened to reveal the gift
inside without disturbing the box decoration. Hot glue the holly leaves,
then the poinsettias and berries in place. Cut a few lengths of wired gold
ribbon. Loop the ribbon and twist in the center then fold in half to make
loop bow picks. Put a dab of hot glue on the end of the picks and insert
into the arrangement.
Punch out a tag in the same burgundy cardstock. Edge with a gold paint pen
and hand write 'To - From' with a fine point gold paint pen. Punch a small
hole and thread a small piece of gold wire through the hole. Twist the two
ends of the wire together, dab some hot glue on the wire and tuck the tag
into the arrangement.
