ALCOHOL INK BACKGROUNDS by STEPH SCHIRMER

Adirondack alcohol inks in Meadow, Lettuce and Pesto
Adirondack alcohol ink Mixatives Gold
Adirondack alcohol blending solution
An applicator to apply the inks
Glossy cardstock
Nonstick craft sheet
Paper towels

Take your nonstick craft sheet and lay a piece of glossy cardstock on it with your inks, blending solution and applicator handy. Apply the Meadow, Lettuce and Pesto the applicator using only one squirt of each. Hold by the handle and start pressing it across the paper, turning it slightly as you work across the paper to avoid a repeat pattern. Do not slide the applicator across lift and press sliding will cause smearing. Your sheet of paper should look like the following picture.

White peeking thru is perfectly acceptable. Next you will be applying the Mixative Gold to the same applicator, make sure you shake the gold up to mix up the pigments, then squirt one spot on the same applicator and apply this across the paper as shown below.

With your applicator apply and work the gold around, then take and drop the blending solution onto the paper and this will make the gold mixative spread out. Using your application tool work the gold around the paper.

The bigger squirt of gold will result it this...

While less gold added will result in this look

This preference is entirely your choice.

This is the two pieces side by side for a better contrast of the two.

Then you can stamp directly over them and finally here are samples of some of the wonderful colors you can come up with.
