Going Bananas Domino Shaker Box Lid by Susan Chong

Domino Shaker Box Directions:
Clean 4 standard sized dominoes. Using a Green and Yellow Sharpie Permanent Marker, randomly scribble color onto the tops of the dominoes. Take a cotton ball that has been soaked (and then gently squeezed out) with rubbing alcohol. Pounce over the scribbled Sharpie ink until you achieve the look you desire. Allow to dry. Spray each domino with Krylon Workable Fixative.

Using Forest Green Stazon Ink (Tsukineko) stamp Skeleton Leaf image (unknown) onto each domino. Allow to dry. Edge each domino with a Metallic Gold Marvy Marker. Allow to dry. Spray each domino again with Krylon Workable Fixative.

An optional step: create gold “puddles” on the dominoes by spraying them with Pirate’s Plunder Gold Moon Shadow Mist. Allow to dry and seal again with Krylon Workable Fixative. You can leave this step out if want.

Using Timber Brown StazOn Ink, stamp 1 Monkey image (StampMagick) onto each domino. Allow to dry.

Arrange dominoes into a square (see photo). Using Zap A Gap glue, permanently secure the dominoes into the square pattern. Allow to dry.

Stamp 2 Banana images (Local King Rubber Stamp) onto Gold Glossy cardstock. Allow to dry. Trim one to fit under “window” and using Zap A Gap glue, secure to the bottom of the domino square with the banana showing in the center as shown. Allow glue to dry. Cut the other banana image out and set aside.

Pour approximately ¼ - ½ teaspoon of desired seed beads into domino window. Don’t use too much or you will cover the banana image. Cut a piece of acetate to cover the window opening. Using 1/8 inch width Red Liner Tape (Art Accentz) line the edges of the acetate and secure onto the top of the domino window. Again using the Red Liner Tape, edge the TOP of the acetate. Cut approximately 5 inches of Gold Rik Rak and secure in place over the top of the tape. Trim to desired length. Using a very small piece of foam tape, adhere the cut out banana image onto the corner of the shaker box window as shown.

Box Lid Directions:
Apply Metallic Green, Metallic White and Metallic Gold acrylic paints to the box lid until you achieve the desired look. Allow to dry thoroughly. Using Gold Mica Magic Ink stamp Banana (Local King Rubber Stamp) image randomly around the edges of the lid. Using Timber Brown Stazon Ink stamp the word “MONKEY” onto the bottom edge of the box lid (Alpha Stamps by: Art by Moonlight) and the Banana image on each bottom corner. Allow to dry.

Once the lid is prepared, glue the domino shaker box onto top of lid using white craft glue. Decorate the box base in the same manner as the lid and you're done.
