Serendipity Technique Tile Cards by Char Doane


Supplies:
Cardstock 1 sheet any color
Scraps of cardstock and paper
1 Word stamp (Serendipity)
metallic EP I like gold or bronze the best
Heat tool
Scissors
Glue stick
Mod Podge
Glitter
Black ink pad

To make the tiles :
Step 1
Take a piece of cardstock any color will do. and start gluing small pieces of paper and cardstock scrapes all over the place I like use bits of mulberry paper and rice paper in the mix as well for texture. Be sure to leave some of the original paper showing.

Step 2.
Using your word stamp and black ink Stamp randomly all over the paper . Heat set the ink.

Step 3.
Using metallic stamp pad and a design stamp randomly stamp on the collage sheet you just made. Try to keep hap-hazard and not straight lines on this step. :) Heat set the ink

4. Cover the whole page with Mod Podge and sprinkle a little bit of Glitter on while wet. Let dry 2 hrs.

5. Turn over and using a ruler draw 1 inch squares . Cut out the squares

To make the Heart card:
Supplies:
1. 5 by 5 in square card cardstock
2. 41/2 by 41/2 square background layer paper or stamped cardstock
3. 11 1-inch tiles, plus 2 tiles cut diagonally to form curve of the
heart
4. 2 in by 2 in cardstock crimped
5. color fiber for edging
6. corner punch

Step 1. Using a heart stencil draw a large heart shape
Step 2. Cut out a large heart shape using deckle decorative scissors
Step 3. Starting at the point of the heart glue your first tile making sure that
the corner of the tile is in the point of the heart
Step 4. For the right edge you will need line up 3 tiles along the edge of the
heart and then place one of the 1/2 angles to start the curve. repeat
for the left edge.
Step 5. Now just form rows to complete the heart using the other 2- 1/2 tiles.
to form the rest of the curve of the heart.
Step 6. Using the background piece Stamp words angled across the corners, and punch the corners and string fiber around the edges
Step 7. Glue heart shape onto background paper


UTEE Tile Card


Supplies:
12 tiles
Pop dots
UTEE
1 design rubber stamp (Stampers Anonymous)
Scissors
5 by 5 card
4 1/2 by 4 1/2 contrasting square of cardstock
metallic ink pad
Heat gun
1 1/2 inch matt board Square
Gold stickers
Old postage stamps
2 inch by 2 inch crimped square of cardstock

To make center tile:
Take embossing ink and stamp matt square sprinkle on UTEE. shake off
excess. place tile into a cardboard box and use heat gun to melt UTEE.
Repeat until you have 4 layers of UTEE. ink up your design stamp with
metallic ink and stamp into the hot UTEE press down for about a min then
lift stamp. your tile is now ready for use.

To add the postage stamps and the gold stickers to the tiles:

Using a glue stick, stick the stickers and postage stamps onto your tiles. Then using scissors or an exacto knife trim them to the edge of the tile.

To make the card:
Step 1. Stamp word stamp using metallic ink onto 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 background square.
Step 2. Glue background square to card face.
Step 3. Using the pop dots and the 12 tiles, form a square around the edge of the background square.
Step 4. In the center glue the 2 inch square and again using the pop dots mount the UTEE tile.
