Directions:
COVERS:
To make the covers of the book cut out two pieces of a stiff cardboard or
cardstock. Using the direct to paper technique, blend the burgundy and
peach inks on only one side of both covers. Colour the reverse side of
each cover with a brown dye ink pad. The cardboard I used made the
interesting texture once the ink was applied.
Stamp the image with black ink. Heat set to dry the pigment inks so that
you don't dirty your clear ink pad. Then cover the entire area with clear
embossing ink and cover with clear ultra thick embossing powder and heat
to melt the powder. While the powder is slightly warm stamp the word ART
in
gold so it's slightly impressed into the glass-like surface. Glue on the
hot glue molded rose.
Punch holes along the top edge, 3 for jump rings and 1 to attach a string
of beads. Edge the covers with a metallic copper paint pen.
TAGS:
Stamp the four panels of the stamp onto four tags with black dye ink.
Masking the image stamp the tag area around each image with a background
text stamp. You don't need to be 100% careful with the masking because
it's nice to have some of the background overlapping the front image. Edge
each tag with a metallic copper paint pen. Colour the images with chalks
and blend with a dove blender pen. Add details to each image with the gold
paint pen. Stamp single words on the bottom edge of each tag in gold
pigment ink and emboss with gold embossing powder. My tags say: wish,
serene, sing and love.
Punch a hole in a different place on each tag and string some beads. The
different position creates a fringe when the book is closed. Punch a hole
at the top of each tag.
Assemble the book by attaching the tags to the front and back covers with
a jump ring at the center hole. Attach the covers to each other with jump
rings at the two outer holes. Add a bead to each jump ring before closing
them.
