Journal
by
Marian aka TeaPot
This little journal gives you lots of hidden places to
tuck in your treasures, journal notes and tags by utilizing the space in
the Kraft Sac and Rolodex Envelopes. You can adapt to any theme and use
any size bag by adjusting the measurements given. The construction of this
Journal does not require any sewing or hole punching.
Supplies:
Art Rubber Stamps: "Tea Stain Background"; "Mini-Medallions"; "Wine
Labels"; "Dance with Your Spirit" (TAC-The Angel Company TM); "Journal
Tag" (Vickie Enoff) Journal "Pages" 4 Li'l Craft Sacs (#3 Paperbilities);
4 Rolodex envelopes Journal Cover: 2 - 5.25 inches High X 6 inches Width
Matte board (Example: Box Top from a game puzzle) Inside Journal Cover:
Choice of decorative paper (Example: Offwhite Mulberry
paper)
Journal Spine: 1 Sheet of heavy cardstock cut 5.25 inches X 10 inches Long
YES! Glue; Paper Cutter; Scissors; Bone Folder; Embellishments; Clips
Directions:
JOURNAL COVER: Using matte board and on the FRONT cover, score 1.25 inch
from SPINE side, fold back gently. Adhere all decorative papers to both
the outside and inside of the Front and Back covers. Add embellishments to
the Front cover after construction of complete Journal.
JOURNAL SPINE: Measure & score cardstock for the spine every 1.25
inches. Accordion fold, making certain you have 4 VALLEY folds to hold the
Kraft Sacs. Glue one end to the inside of each cover. Dry completely.
JOURNAL
PAGES: Lay the Li'l Sac in front of you with the left side being the
bottom and the right side being the opening and with the imprinting facing
up. From the LEFT side, fold up the bag. You now have the bottom of the
bag folded over the right side. Place glue on the sides of the bottom of
the bag and adhere to the right side. This will now be each page of your
Journal, giving you an additional flap to tuck in items, as well as the
Kraft Sac itself. Using the Rolodex Envelopes, open the flap and place
glue all over EXCEPT THE envelope FLAP. Adhere Rolodex Envelope to the
BACK of the Sac, allowing the flap to come over the opening of the Sac.
Your now have another place to tuck in treasures. Now decorate each page
as desired.
(Example: On Sacs: "Tea Stain Backgrounds" and "Dance with Your Spirit".
Rolodex Envelopes "Mini Medallions")
ASSEMBLY:
Glue the Sac bottoms to the SPINE on the FRONT side of each fold. Glue
between the folds of the SPINE on the OUTSIDE and place a heavy weight on
top & allow to dry.
