Faux Leather by Steph Schirmer

Items Needed:
Fun Foam (white)
Bold rubber stamps
Black StazOn
Heat Gun
ColorBox Fluid Chalks Autumn Pastels
Optional things: brads, eyelets, layering paper, VersaMark pad

Take one of your bold stamps, ink it up with the black StazOn and leave it face down on the pad. Using your heat gun, heat up the piece of fun foam, keep your heat gun moving so you don’t burn it, till the edges start curling, then immediately depress your inked stamp into the foam pressing firmly. If you heated your fun foam up enough you should have an indented impression of the stamp, remove the stamp and let the fun foam cool and the ink dry. Your image should look like this

Next you start applying the ink, I used ColorBox Fluid Chalk Palette in the Autumn Pastels, but Cats Eyes can be used or any ink to achieve the look of leather. I started with creamy brown, burnt sienna, amber chalk and around the edges dark brown. Rub the colors over the fun foam in a circular motion covering the piece.

Once the coloring is done, let the inks dry and then trim the image up. Now you can have fun by adding brads, eyelets and layering them on cards.
