Fall Napkin Rings by Daylene Strickland

This easy project takes little time and the kids can enjoy helping be part of the fun in creating your festive decorations.

Step 1: Pieces of a bamboo placemat were used to make these napkin rings. The placemats may be found at kitchen stores or specialty home and linen type stores very inexpensively and one placemat goes a long way for your projects. The placemat tiles of bamboo are predrilled with two holes in the long ends of each piece and held together with plastic cording. (See Picture 1)
Cut the placemat apart and select 5 tiles for each napkin ring. (Do not select end pieces for this project as the sides have sections drilled also.) Place remaining tiles in baggie for future projects.

Step 2: Choose a decorative scrapbook paper, napkin or gift wrap for your theme and trim a piece to fit each tile. Use Mod Podge to adhere and cover each piece with one coat. Allow to dry completely. (See Picture 2)

Step 3: Use 1mm elastic beading line to connect the tiles together one at a time by tying off each tile and pulling the knot through the hole to hide it. (See Picture 3)
Tap copper Brilliance ink pad on top and bottom of holder to cover top of tiles and clear line and allow drying.

Step 4: Add leaf or favorite charm with adhesive of choice or glue dot and secure around napkins.
