Grout & Tile Stamps & Botanicals Stamps by Starving Artistsamps

I was privileged to have the opportunity to work with some of the mosaic grid and tile stamps by Starving Artistamps. The stamps are nice, thick red rubber and deeply etched. (See stamps above.) There are several styles and the grid or tile may be used alone or together depending on your choice of project. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. The stamps are easy to use whether it is a quick card, tag, bookmark or a project that requires a few more hours; the stamps are very easy to use. I have made a few examples using them that I hope will spark your creativity.

Step 1. Paint one or two coats of white gesso on a paper Mache tissue cover box. Once dry, locate center on sides and mark with pencil as guideline for later assembling stamped panels. Set aside. (See pictures at left)

Step 2. The Cracked Mosaic Grout stamp was used for this project. VersaMark ink and pigment inks are used for this project. Stamp inks in following order: VersaMark ink, Brilliance Pearlescent Beige and pigment ink with images from the Botanicals set using Fabrico/Versacolor Ink (Celadon, Forest, Lemon Yellow, Tangerine, Peony Purple, Ultramarine). Stamp these images directly on the inked grout stamp. Note: The VersaMark ink is very important. It keeps the ink moist enough to emboss while applying other images.
Step 3. Stamp image on white cardstock and emboss with clear embossing powder. (See picture at left)
Clean stamp and repeat this process, stamping 10 panels to cover tissue box.

Step 4. Trim cardstock to fit sides and top of box and secure with chosen adhesive. (The Ultimate! Glue was used for entire project.) Glue thin coordinating ribbon where edges of cardstock meet and on corners of box.

Step 5. Apply sage colored mesh around top and bottom of box. Tip: Trim each side before applying to have smooth corners. Rub glue over mesh areas with fingertips to secure in place. Add glass marbles around top opening. (See pictures at left.)
